The Word Project is a simple celebration of words. It’s not a vocabulary builder (unless you need to go and look up the definition of a word yourself). It’s not about etymology, either, because, let’s face it: you can go look that up, too.
The only thing the Word Project is interested in is the sound and feel of a word … and perhaps, the fun of juxtaposing an image with it … and seeing it used in a poem. If seeing a word showcased here makes you hear it differently or see its strangeness and beauty, then good.
